How do I apply for a job?
Once on the career site, select the job you are qualified for and interested in and select ‘Apply Now’ to complete your application.
What do I need to include on my application?
You will be asked to provide your name, address, contact information, education, employment history, and references (please include phone numbers for previous employment and references). You are given the option to upload a resume and certificates in addition to your application.
The more information you provide, the easier it will be to effectively evaluate your skills, abilities and qualifications. Incomplete applications may be rejected so please be thorough. No, you must apply by going to the career site and completing the application. Please make sure you include all relevant education and experience history on your application, or you may be disqualified from the review process.

You may contact hremployemnt@hvlnc.gov to check the status of your application.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
Yes, however, you must complete separate applications for each position.
How will I know how long a position is open?
Some positions show a closing date, and some remain open until filled. We recommend you complete your application as soon as possible to ensure you are considered.
The position is no longer posted on the career site - can I still apply?
As with any position, once a closing date has passed or the position has been filled, no applications will be accepted or considered. To avoid missing a deadline, we encourage you to apply early, as we are unable to make exceptions.
How do I know if the City of Hendersonville successfully received my online application?
After you have submitted your online application, you will receive an email confirmation.
