Sullivan Park Community Planting Day & Giveaway
Date: April 25, 2025
Location: Sullivan Park - 713 Martin Circle (Meet at the covered courts)
The City of Hendersonville Stormwater Department, Tree Board, and Environmental Sustainability Board invite the community to a tree planting event at Sullivan Park.
Native trees and plants play an important role in controlling erosion, improving water quality, and providing aquatic habitat. During this event, participants will help plant a variety of native trees to enhance stormwater management and erosion control in the park.
Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and closed-toe shoes. Gloves and tools will be provided.
As an added bonus, Hendersonville's Environmental Sustainability Board will be giving away free native plants to City of Hendersonville residents for use in rain gardens or along streambanks at home, while supplies last. Available plants include Clethra ‘Hummingbird’ and Juncus ‘Blue Arrow.’
The plant giveaway is limited to City of Hendersonville residents, but all community members are welcome to participate in the planting event.
