On-Street Parking

There are 265 on-street paid parking spaces in Downtown Hendersonville within the Main Street Municipal Services District. There are also more than 400 free on-street parking spaces along the border created by Church Street, King Street, Allen Street and 7th Avenue or a short walk beyond.

On-Street Parking Rate:

  • $0.50 per 15 minutes

  • Fees are charged in 15-minute increments

  • Metered parking is enforced Monday - Saturday from 9 AM - 7 PM

  • Parking for less than 30 minutes is free. This grace period allows quick stops downtown. If visitors exceed 30 minutes, the entire parking session amount will be charged.

Payment options include:

  • ParkMobile app (70216)
  • At parking kiosks located along Main Street. The kiosks accept Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, as well as US coins and dollars ($1, $5, and $10s). The kiosks do not provide change for overpayment.

Always check-in via the ParkMobile App or kiosk – even if you only plan to stay a short time.

Free on-street parking is also available a short walk beyond the boundaries of the Municipal Services District.

Parking Deck

The City of Hendersonville Parking Deck is conveniently located at 418 N. Church Street directly across from the public restrooms and a few steps from beautiful Main Street. The four-level, 253-space structure offers four EV charging stations, accessible parking, and offers space for paid parking and permitted parking.

Parking Deck Rate:

  • $0.75 per 30 minutes

  • Fees are charged in half-hour increments

  • $10 maximum per parking session (day resets in the deck at 4 AM)
  • Lost ticket fee: $20.00

  • Parking for less than one hour is free. This grace period allows quick stops downtown. If visitors exceed one hour in the deck, the full parking duration amount will be charged.

Pay-by-plate payment options include:

  • From your vehicle using a credit card at payment kiosks located at the exit lanes
  • ParkMobile app (70215)
  • At the walk-up kiosk located at the first-floor main tower before returning to a vehicle. The kiosk accepts Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, as well as US coins and dollars ($1, $5, and $10s). The kiosks do not provide change for overpayment.

Special Event Parking

During special events like Garden Jubilee, Apple Festival, parades, etc., the parking deck offers daily special event pricing.

City Parking Lots

The following city parking lots are available for parking:

Maple Lot (70212) - 489 N. King Street
Spruce Lot (70214) 405 N. King Street
Azalea Lot (70213) - Between 3rd & 4th Avenue East *One electric vehicle charging station

Interior Lot Parking Rate:

Free Parking in City Lots

Free Parking in Maple, Spruce & Azalea lots on Sundays and City Holidays.

Free parking on Sundays in the Dogwood Lot at 415 N. Church Street.
Monday – Saturday the Dogwood Lot is reserved for monthly permit holders.

Free parking in the City Hall Lot located at 160 6th Avenue is available outside of business hours. The City Hall Lot is reserved for City employees and members of the public conducting business at City Hall Monday – Friday from 7 AM – 6 PM.

Accessible Parking

The City of Hendersonville provides paid parking options for people with disabilities. Handicapped spaces have the same paid parking rates and enforcement hours as neighboring spaces. Visit the parking map for information on rates and enforcement hours. There are no time limits on handicapped parking spaces.

Vehicles displaying a valid NC or other state-issued disability license plate or disability placard may park in spaces designated for people with disabilities. 

The vehicle should be driven by or be transporting the person whose name appears on the license plate registration certificate or placard certificate. The placard must be clearly visible – either hanging from the rearview mirror or lying face-up on the dashboard.

Please note that this does not apply to spaces where public parking is prohibited. Examples include loading zones; spaces where parking is prohibited during events; etc.

Those who come downtown to shop, dine, do business and enjoy entertainment can park for free before 9 AM, after 7 PM and anytime on Sundays and City Holidays. During paid parking hours (Monday – Saturday 9 AM - 7PM) parking for less than one hour is free. This grace period allows quick stops downtown. If visitors exceed one hour in a City parking lot, the full parking duration amount will be charged. Be sure to check in on the ParkMobile App or kiosk when you first arrive.

Free Evening and Sunday On-Street Parking

EV Charging

To encourage and support the use of low-emission vehicles, the City has installed electric vehicle charging stations in many of its parking facilities. 

All parking spaces containing a charging station for electric vehicles in a paid parking zone are reserved for electric vehicles only. Those using the EV chargers must pay the applicable parking rate for the paid parking zone and be limited to three consecutive hours of parking in an EV parking space.
