Ecusta Crossing

Ecusta Crossing is a private development project, and not managed by the City of Hendersonville. The following updates are provided regarding water and sewer service for Ecusta Crossing.

The City of Hendersonville has agreed to provide water and sewer service for the private residential development in Laurel Park known as Ecusta Crossing (formerly Cottages at Arcadia Views). The Town of Laurel Park approved the subdivision plat on March 8, 2018. The Water and sewer service for this project requires an extension of the City’s public infrastructure. The proposed utility extension was submitted to the City of Hendersonville beginning November 2017. The City reviewed and approved a design in January of 2020. Due to the topography of the area, the sewer requires a lift station to discharge wastewater to the City’s gravity system. The City will take responsibility for operation and maintenance of the lift station prior to the system going live.

For this reason, the City’s standards and specifications govern the construction of the lift station. These standards and specifications were provided to the design engineer and developer several times between 2018 and 2023. The City is obligated to ensure its infrastructure is high quality so that we provide an acceptable level of service to customers with a low cost of operation. The City continues to assist the project's design engineer and developer to prepare the construction plans for the lift station in a manner that is compliant.

Project Updates:

February 10, 2025: City staff hosted a meeting with the development team and assisted the designer in finalizing certain details of the pump station to meet City standards. The designer is drafting the construction plan set and we expect that he will provide it to the City later this month.

January 7, 2025: City staff contacted the project design team and confirmed that their team is preparing the details and revisions to submit to the City.

December 13, 2024: City staff met with the project design team to review the lift station plan and assisted them to prepare the construction plans for the lift station in a manner that is compliant with the City’s standards and specifications. The design team is making revisions.

October 16, 2024: The City received a submittal from the developer's engineer and the City of Hendersonville provided comments back to the engineer that included the necessary revisions. Construction on the lift station may begin once these submittals have been resubmitted, reviewed and approved by the City of Hendersonville. Understanding that time is of the essence for the various interested parties, the City is committed to expediting our review of these revised submittals, once received. After the materials have been acquired, the City stands ready to provide guidance to the developer and provide clear communication throughout the testing, verification, and close-out process.
