Removal of Bradford Pear Trees Encouraged in Hendersonville Through Bradford Pear Bounty Program

In an effort to combat the spread of invasive species, the Hendersonville Tree Board and NC State University are sponsoring the Bradford Pear Bounty.

This is an Invasive tree replacement program where participants eliminate invasive species from their property and, in exchange, receive native plants and trees. To qualify, you must own property in the City of Hendersonville or the ETJ and register on the NC Bradford Pear Bounty website.

The event will occur on Saturday, April 12th, from 9-11 AM at the City Of Hendersonville Operations Center at 305 Williams Street. City residents must register online before the event and provide a picture of an invasive species from their property they have removed and/or treated with herbicide.

Over 200 native trees will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration does not guarantee you will receive a tree. So come early!
