Firefighter/EMT Hiring Process

The Hendersonville Fire Department's hiring process for Firefighter/EMT is as follows:

  • Written Exam
  • JPAT & Panel Interview
  • Chief Interviews
  • Pre-employment process including background check, drug screen, physical

The orientation process lasts 7-14 days depending on the number of personnel hired.

Basic Employment Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Firefighter Level II
  • Hazardous Materials
  • EMT Basic or one year to obtain
